FINANCE MANAGER
ChildFund Philippines is advertising a vacant position for employment under the Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) Humanitarian Response program. ChildFund is implementing various programs which are aimed at assisting families and children affected by the Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in Regions VI, VII & VIII with an integrated response addressing their well-being, development, education, participation and protection needs during the relief and early recovery stage.
The contract period is until December 2014 and the package is commensurate with the applicants’ experience and qualifications.  The post is based in Tacloban City.

The Finance Manager shall ensure the setting up and maintenance of general accounting system, procedures and controls for the grant project. The post holder will ensure reliability and timeliness of accounting records, financial reports and inventory of consumables and non-consumable office supplies and other materials; review and verify financial documents to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, policies and donor reporting requirements; and prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for the grant project.
Qualifications:
·         5 years progressive work experience in accounting including analysis, financial reporting, budgeting, financial software and reporting systems;  3 years experience in a management role
·         Prior experience in financial aspect of Grants Development and Management preferred
·         Proven managerial skills an ability to work and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with employees at all levels
·         Strong decision making ability using good judgment and professionalism
·         Good understanding of administrative, financial and general management principles and skilled in financial reporting, budgeting and taxes
·         Experience and proficiency on financial software and reporting systems.
·         Self-guided, strong organizational and planning skills; Ability to work independently and under pressure
·         Strong interpersonal communicative skills
·         Ability to work and communicate with employees of all levels
·         Fluency in English required, proficiency in a local language preferred
·         Ability to overcomes challenges despite hurdles, and resolve them consistent with ChildFund  values and ways of working
·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs including Excel, Word and Outlook

Standard Qualifications: Relevant and progressive work experience preferably in an international non-government organization; strong technical capacity in the required areas of work; in-depth knowledge and practical experience on standard humanitarian guidelines; demonstrated high-level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills including the ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally with sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, social and political issues; self-guided, independent with strong facilitation, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills; supportive attitude towards processes of strengthening local organizations and building local capacities for self-management; and above-average written and oral communication skills in English.(opt)
